The Eden Activity Club (EAC) is a new service initiative from the Autism Association (Singapore). Its main mission is to provide social integration opportunities for adults with autism who are currently without any services. The Eden Activity Club is wholly funded by the National Council of Social Services (NCSS), and started its first pilot run in October 2015.
The Club is open to individuals with autism who have difficulty accessing other support services, and who are socially isolated for most part of the day. With a series of leisure and recreational activities available weekly, the Club aims to increase the level of participation, community engagement and well-being of its members in an age-appropriate and meaningful social context.
The Eden Activity Club offers a variety of autism-friendly and interesting activities that can be adjusted to each individual’s level of support needs. A wide base of service providers allows the Club to cater for the different strengths and preferences of each member, and gives them the opportunity to choose between the different programmes available.
The Eden Activity Club runs its activity programmes on:
Saturdays 9am - 12nn
Each activity programme is based on a 10-week cycle
|Some of the currently available activities are:|
Gym & Fitness
Art & Craft
Music & Movement
- Must be between 18 - 55 years of age
- Must be clinically diagnosed with ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder)
- Must be a Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident
- Must not be receiving other government-funded services
We Need Volunteers!
With only 1 permanent staff, the Club’s activities are currently supported by a small pool of AA(S) staff who graciously volunteer to spend their Saturday mornings assisting and supporting the members in the various activities.
Volunteers are needed to allow us to increase the number of programmes available and to support a wider member base.
